Belief in God

I firmly believe God resides within your own self. Do what gives you happiness and peace, God will always be by your side.
Having said that, I don't quite believe in visiting temples neither do I enjoy trekking. 
Mom said she wanted to go on a teen dham yatra covering Yamunotri, Gangotri and Badrinath. We obey what is being told. I was going to mom's place for my annual summer break (another one in winter too 😉). We planned the trip and embarked on the journey. The first dham was yamunotri. It has a 6km trek with quite steep ascent throughout the route with the last half a km of descent. We started the trek at 4am. It was a rocky terrain. Mom tried but due to her knees and the recent injury on the foot, she couldn't continue. There's a ram mandir at 2 km. She decided to stop there and let me continue with dad. It was tricky. However we started but after 100 m , dad realised he wouldn't want to leave mom all by herself. We went back to where mom was. They both had decided not to go ahead. Now it was my decision. I was in a dilemma as this wasn't something I enjoy. I myself wouldn't have wanted to do this. But where I was standing, it didn't make sense to abandon. But it was also not a great idea to leave my aging parents like that and continue. After discussing for a while and agreeing they both will wait there, I started with the trek. I had a thought of going back but then took God's name to give me the strength to do this.... And poof!! Abundant strength was pushed through. I continued with the trek alone , slowly but steadily. I started the 4 km trek at 5:15am to reach the temple at 7:40am. I had absolutely fantastic darshan, clicked a few pictures there and on the way too. The return journey from yamunotri dham to ram mandir started at 8 am.
I expected to reach by 10am. However, after covering the first 0.5km which was an ascent now, I ran intermittently where there were no stairs or no water and reached ram mandir by 9 am. My parents had been waiting patiently or rather dad was getting impatient. This was such an amazing feeling of accomplishment and further strengthens my belief that God is always by your side and would help you achieve whatever you wish for. 🙏

We had a dinner party recently for the entire team covering over 400 employees. Finding a venue, to getting all the permissions in place, finalizing the menu, security, parking, volunteers....a lot of efforts ho into the planning done by an amazing team who ensure every bit is taken care with utmost precision.  This time the venue was "Pivo Garten" in Mundhwa, Pune. It is a beautiful place with indoor seating (on ground and first floor) all over looking the dance floor and a spacious outdoor seating with a big lawn.  We got ready in office, navigated the peak evening traffic to reach the venue. They had a basket valet service available for parking the guest vehicles. Entry was managed by our volunteers and the venue staff which was smooth. After a long wait, my brother finally agreed to get married. The final one from our generation!! The engagement ceremony took place in Delhi with happy faces from both the sides joining the fun and frolic.  My kids' school was ongoing but this was important too. We took a leave and flew to Delhi from Pune. Indigo was caught in an issue related to their staffing model which had badly impacted majority of flights. By the day my flight was scheduled, luckily the issues had resolved and operations were normalised. We reached my brother's place in Gurugram around noon on Thursday. My sister has already arrived with her family the previous day. We all met each other , more for the kids who were meeting after a gap of a few years now. Ma brewed some masala tea for me while we freshened up before settling down for a delicious lunch of kulche chhole. Some of us caught up on some sleep before the mehndi artists arrived.  3 artists took around 3 hours ...

Bestie ki shaadi

Friday, 28th Nov was my best buddy's wedding in Chhatrapati Shambhaji Nagar (previously called Aurangabad). The groom is from Karnataka and the bride from Maharashtra.  We are a group of 3 close knit friends who worked together a few years back and that turned us into buddies beyond the workplace.  The 2 of us still work in the same campus(but for different employees) while the third one is based abroad. The friend from abroad showed up on Thursday night for the sangeet function. She was kind enough to make me a part of the celebrations through video call while I was already in an office party. Reaching home from the party and packing my bag, we got on a late night call to discuss the next day. I started my travel at 2am and she went off to sleep. It took us (me n my husband) less than 5 hours to reach out destination. She was still in her dreams when I disrupted her by another phone call to open the door 😂 we were so glad to see each other after such a long time....
